For the first time, we offered a presale option to provide an opportunity for tourists to purchase reservations before the regular public sale date. Although we did our best to accommodate your specific requests, there were some tourists who received dates they are not able to use.

In fairness to all reservation holders, we are offering a one-time opportunity to cancel your current reservation for a full refund of the reservation amount, regardless of whether you booked a reservation through the presale or regular sale.

This option will only be available until 5PM Arizona time Thursday, Feb 8, 2024. Please complete and submit the below form to begin the refund process. Once received by our support team, please allow 7-10 business days (depending on your credit card company) for the refund to be processed.

For those tourists who have already listed your reservation on the transfer list, your refund is now in process. Please allow 7-10 business days (depending on your credit card company) for this to be completed.

Please note – if you are a reservation holder with a reservation that had been rescheduled due to COVID, you have the option to request a refund as well. You will receive a refund via direct deposit. You will receive a secure email to verify your information. Please allow 7-10 business days for refunds made via direct deposit.

During the refund process, the ability to transfer or purchase a transferred reservation or make a new reservation is temporarily disabled.

Havasupai Tribe Introduces Presale Reservation Entries and Permit Fee Increase for the 2024 Tourism Season

The Havasupai Tribe Tourism Office is offering an opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers to secure a reservation for the highly sought-after Havasupai campground and/or Havasupai lodge for the 2024 tourist season.

For the 2024 tourist season, the Havasupai Tribe Tourism Office is offering a presale reservation system, allowing tourists to register in advance and purchase priority access to a limited number of permit reservations.

The presale registration period opens at 8 am Arizona time January 5, 2024 through 5 pm Arizona time January 18, 2024 and provides opportunity for tourists to purchase a limited number of reservations before the public on-sale opening day on February 1, 2024. Presale entries do not guarantee a reservation spot, however, participants who purchase a presale registration significantly increase their chances of securing a reservation for one of their preferred dates.

What is a Presale?

Havasupai Reservation Presale provides an exclusive opportunity to purchase a limited number of permit reservations, in advance of the public on-sale date. Please note that access to the presale does not guarantee a reservation spot.

How Does the Presale Process Work?

Presale Registration: Tourists can register to purchase a 2024 reservation for the campground and/or lodge by selecting three (3) desired reservation start dates, as well as a designated month as an option in the event that the desired reservation start date(s) are unavailable.
Reservation Limits: Campground reservations are limited to one reservation (up to 12 permits) per trip leader. Lodge reservations are limited to up to three rooms (4 people per room, 12 permits total) per trip leader.
Presale Fee: Complete the presale selections by paying a non-refundable fee of $15 per permit for a chance to secure a reservation on one of your selected dates.
Presale Closure: The presale period opens at 8 a.m. Arizona time on January 5, 2024 and closes at 5 p.m. Arizona time on January 18, 2024. Once the presale period has closed, a randomized process will then assign a limited number of reservation dates among tourists who have purchased a presale entry. Please note, all presale registrations are randomized following the closing time and is not dependent upon the date you purchase your presale.
Presale Notification: Tourists will be notified of their awarded dates no later than January 26th, 2024 via email. The total reservation payment will be processed at that time. Tourists may log into their online account(s) to view the reservation details. It is highly encouraged to have your PATL(s) included on your reservation at the time of your presale purchase.
Public Availability: The remaining permits will become available to the general public for purchase on February 1, 2024, beginning at 8 a.m. Arizona time.

Campground reservations are available from February 1 - November 30, 2024. Lodge reservations are available from April 1 - November 30, 2024.

The 2024 rates are:

$455 per person for a campground permit, 3 nights.
$2,277 per lodge room – up to four people, 3 nights.

Pack mule reservation fees are currently $200 per mule (each way) / $400 per mule round trip.

The Havasupai Tribe looks forward to welcoming our visitors back to Supai. You are receiving this email because you are listed as the trip leader for your upcoming reservation.

This information is for reservation holders for July 2024. Please read carefully and ensure that all members of your reservation group understand and agree to the following information.

It is the responsibility of each tourist to bring the necessary gear and equipment for camping. The tribe does not offer or sell tents, sleeping bags, heaters or other camping supplies. The store stocks a limited number of food items, but you should bring your own food, water, etc. Plan accordingly for changes in weather, the Reservation can experience high and low temperatures, wind, rain and snow.

Please respect the sovereignty of the Havasupai Tribe and abide by all posted signage and instructions from the rangers. Only hike in designated areas. Leave no trace (Pack It In, Pack It Out). Non-compliance may result in a $1,000 fine, immediate removal from the Reservation at your expense and a permanent ban.

PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT

To address the issue of tourists leaving trash and gear in the canyon, the tribe has authorized a civil citation and fine of up to $1,000. Individuals will be cited for failure to take all their trash and gear out of the canyon. Leave no trace (Pack It In, Pack It Out). Please help keep the Havasupai lands clean. The cost to remove tourist trash and gear by helicopter is substantial. You are responsible to take out what you bring in!

CHECK-IN PROCESS

Check-in for all permit reservations will take place at Grand Canyon Caverns Inn, located at Mile Marker 115, Route 66 near Seligman, Arizona 86434. The trip leader must check-in for all members of their group, beginning the day before your arrival date and no later than noon on the first day of your reservation. Failure to do so will result in your reservation being cancelled. No refunds or rescheduling of dates will be issued.

The check-in is located on the right-hand side of the lobby when you walk in the main doors. There will be signs.

The trip leader will need to provide photo ID to receive all permits, wristbands, bag tags, and an entrance form, which will need to be completed and shown to the Havasupai Reservation boundary checkpoint staff.

The check-in times are as follows:

July 1-31, 2024: 6 am - 6 pm

All members of the group will be asked to show all required paperwork at the Havasupai Reservation boundary checkpoint, approximately 5 miles from Hilltop (the trailhead). There will be no congregating at the checkpoint so please make sure all members of your group have the required paperwork.

You can start the hike on any day of your reservation, and you must depart on or before the last day of your reservation. There is no refund for unused days. The trail will be open for hiking 24 hours a day. Please use caution as assistance may not be readily available during non-business hours.

HILLTOP TRAILHEAD

Please note: There is NO camping at Hilltop. That includes no sleeping in your vehicle at Hilltop.
There is limited parking at the trailhead. Additional parking is available along the road leading to the trailhead.

Recommended Hiking Hours: During the winter months the Tribe recommends hiking during daylight hours. On your day of departure, you must start hiking out no later 2 pm.

MULE RESERVATIONS

Mule reservations will be confirmed at check-in. Mule reservations are non-refundable. If you intend to use this service, you must ensure your packs and supplies are the proper weight and size for your mule reservation. https://www.theofficialhavasupaitribe.com/Havasupai-Mules/havasupai-mules.html

Visitors must obtain their pack mule tags no later than 9am on the morning of your reservation arrival date in order for your reservation to be honored.
For Packs from Hilltop to Campground: Visitors must drop bags off no later than 10am at Trailhead. Bags can be dropped off as early as 4am at Trailhead on the morning of your reservation arrival date. Packs typically arrive down below around 5pm.
For Packs from Campground to Hilltop: Bags ready for transport must be dropped off no later than 7am at Campground. Packs typically arrive up top around noon.

COVID PROTOCOLS

Vaccination status or negative test results are not required at this time. However, the Tribe requires all visitors wear a mask while in Supai Village and in all public areas including the store and the café. Please bring your own mask. Failure to comply may result in immediate removal from the Reservation at your expense. The Tribe reserves the right to update its COVID protocols at any time up which may include the suspension of tourism for non-compliance of the mask requirement.

STORE AND CAFÉ

The store and the café will be open to tourists during normal operating hours. It is possible that there will be occupancy restrictions, please abide by all signage and onsite instructions. Please wear your mask at all times while in the store or the café.

HAVASUPAI TRIBAL COUNCIL

The Havasupai Tribe has held several meetings over the past couple of days with various federal and state agencies including, Indian Health Services (“IHS”), Coconino County Health Department, Arizona State Health Department and Governor Hobbs’ office.

The Havasupai Tribe and the Havasupai Tribe Tourism office are aware of a recent increase of gastrointestinal symptoms among campers visiting the reservation. The Tribe has held several meetings over the past couple of days with various federal and state agencies including, Indian Health Services (“IHS”), Coconino County Health Department, Arizona State Health Department and Governor Hobbs’ office. What the Tribe has learned from these meetings is that a gastrointestinal illness is currently being experienced in the northern Arizona region, not only at the Havasupai campground.

The Tribe is working with IHS and other state agencies to further investigate the illness and to take measures to prevent further spreading of the illness not only to campers but to local tribal members. The Tribe is taking steps to hire additional workers to clean and disinfect more frequently the compositing toilet units located in the campground.

The IHS medical clinic is available for campers who may need medical assistance during their visit. If you experience gastrointestinal symptoms while in the campground and need assistance you can reach one of the Tribal rangers stationed in the campground.

To assist hikers and campers in the excessive heat, the Tribe will be setting up a water station along the trail near Little Navajo Falls.

The Tribe reminds all tourists to (i) take responsibility for their personal hygiene while visiting and (ii) properly dispose of personal trash by hauling it out. The compositing toilets are not for your personal trash.

If you arrive and check-in a day or two late, you still must exit the canyon on your original departure date.

No refunds or rescheduling of dates will be issued.

The check-in office is located around the back of the Inn lobby when you walk through the main doors or you can access it by entering from the back of the building. There will be signs. The check-in office is open every day from 8 am - 5 pm.

You can start the hike on any day of your reservation and you must depart on or before the last day of your reservation. There is no refund for unused days. The trail will be open for hiking 24 hours a day. Please use caution as assistance may not be readily available during non-business hours.

All members of the group will be asked to show all required paperwork (see above) at the Havasupai Reservation boundary checkpoint, approximately 5 miles from Hilltop (the trailhead). There will be no congregating at the checkpoint so please make sure all members of your group have the required paperwork. Please follow directions and signs at the checkpoint.

If you will be parking a vehicle at Hilltop, you will need to indicate the license plate number of each vehicle on your check-in information. Please note that the Tribe is not responsible for vehicles parked at Hilltop.

MULE RESERVATIONS

There are no new mule reservations. If you have previously made a mule reservation, it will be confirmed at check-in. Mule reservations are non-refundable. If you intend to use this service, you must ensure your packs and supplies are the proper weight and size for your mule reservation.
